Agonizing

I’m in a lot of pain right now.  I’ve closed a chapter on my life and am moving forward and it’s painful.

Yes.  That’s right.  I just got off the phone after paying the last big, fat, mountain sized chunk of medical bills for breaking my ankle.

It’s over.  I owe not one cent more.  I am free of it.  Finished.  Done.  Out of my life.

My ankle is still slowly healing, (for the love of everything how long does it take for these things to heal already?), but I’m inching my way towards my future, one limpy baby step after one limpy baby step.  This really put a damper on my plans and I had debated making payments instead of in one lump sum but there were so many fricken bills that I decided my peace of mind was more important.  I’ll deal with the other stuff when that time comes.

So, they’re paid.  I’m only aware I did anything because it still hurts a little bit and soon my only reminder will be my cyborg scar or the melodies of metal detectors when I pass under them but the worst part of this whole situation is now completed.

I feel good and I feel sick.  I have nothing to give you today because I’m in mourning.  I’m grieving over the loss of money from my account.  Maybe I’ll go look around on E-Bay and bid on something for a dollar that should cost about $30 and that will make me feel better.  Make me feel like I got one over cause right now, I feel like one got pulled on me.

Time heals all wounds and I’ll be back later.  In the meantime, I hope you all didn’t forget that it’s Flag Day today.  You did, didn’t you?  SHAME!

[update] Oops!  Crap!  I thought today was the 14th.  I lost an entire day in there somewhere.  Do you know how unsettling that is?  All day yesterday I swear it was the 13th and today was the 14th.  Did I sleep an entire day?  I went to work....I didn’t miss a day there.....tha hell?  Welp, that means I’m the one who should be feeling the “shame” because I didn’t technically forget....I’ve just had my days off by one for about...a week now!  OY!
