Big Brother, Indeed
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Here we go again.
So, some asshole Dem is looking to pass yet another bill on firearm ownership. You know, I see shit like this and wonder why people ask me why I’m so angry. My response to that is, “Why aren’t YOU angry?” Do you really enjoy your rights being chipped away? Are you really so deaf, dumb and blind to being owned? Most of the people I know play penis wars with each other, “My dick is bigger than yours”, “No, mine is” so I find it unbelievable that they have no fucking clue that the government is trying to own every part of their lives. These are people who DO NOT LIKE being told what to do. These are people who think there are too many laws, that things were better when two men could resolve their differences with a good old fashioned fist fight and no one went to jail for it. These are people who swagger around, strutting, talking a lot of smack and hating authority.
But they do not have a clue as to what is going on around them.
I’ve also known people who think the government should own everyone else except them. Idiots. If you allow the government to own some people, they will own ALL people. (Liberals, pay attention. You goddamn twits.) Most everyone I have ever met in my entire life hates being lorded over, hates micromanagement, hates being treated like children, liberals and conservatives alike. Independents are even more against being told what to do and having government all up in their business.
People come to this country to get away from that kind of garbage but every day, government tries to take over more and more of our lives and we keep fucking voting them in. It’s pure insanity.
If you let government control one issue that you don’t agree with, you have just opened Pandora’s box. You have given them license to eventually control things that YOU like and enjoy and don’t want them being a part of.
There are (screw you, English teacher, I’ll start my sentences this way), a few very hot topics in any election season that cause a person to choose one side or another and one of them is gun ownership. For the gun owners, most of them want the government to keep their slimey little noses OUT of it and stop making us jump through hurdles to obtain a gun. Most of those who hate guns simply do not know a gun or understand guns or the facts behind the news stories talking about someone killing another.
Most people don’t have a damn problem with cars on the road....except that there are too many in my damn way but you don’t see people leaping around trying to outlaw cars or make it difficult to own a car. But the fact remains, more people die from auto accidents every year than from being killed by a gun. This includes the CHILLLLLLLLLLLDREN that they claim all the bills are for.
Look to Britain to see how well things are going for the citizens who are not allowed to arm themselves. The goblins still have the guns, the citizens do not and the police barely have any rights to do a fucking thing when a crime happens. Brilliance! Let’s follow that failing strategy.
So, on to this new bill being proposed by this idiot shit head Dem:
U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is hoping to pass a firearm-licensing bill that will significantly rewrite gun-ownership laws in America.
Among the more controversial provisions of the bill are requirements that all handgun owners submit to the federal government a photo, thumb print and mental heath records. Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner’s address in America
Why are these shit holes all from Illinois? Ok, first of all, douche, you already get a fucking photo when you ask for my driver’s license before purchase of the gun. As for a thumb print, you can suck it. There is only one time a person should be fingerprinted and that is when they commit a crime. I was fingerprinted when I went in to the military and while they have their reasons, I didn’t agree with it. So, asshole, you already have my thumbprint on file. I’m not giving you another one.
Also, mental health records? Oh hell no. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Let me guess where this shit is going. If you display ANY form of anger or hostility in any way, shape or form, they will deny you. Example: I think St. Hope and Change is a lying, back stabbing piece of shit. Guess what will happen if this bill passes? Another example, (these didn’t happen necessarily to me, they happen to many, many people): A co-worker pissed me off one day to the point that words were exchanged, it got heated and we were pulled in to the office to discuss our issues. Guessssss what? Denied! ANOTHER example: Some asshole on the road cut me off and I got pissed at him and (if you’re from Miami and are a twit), blared my horn at him and/or (if you are not from Miami), flipped him off. GUESS WHAT??!??!?! D! NIED!
Mark my words. If this bill passes and they start requesting mental health records, in time, these are the questions that will be asked and if you will be denied for being a human being. Watch.
Finally, a database of all our information. Isn’t that already happening? I just bought a gun. That gun is connected to my driver’s license number now. I think it’s already in a database, asshole. So, with the exception of the mental health records, this is just more of the same but is yet another thorn in the side of our rights. You know, those pesky little Bill of Rights.
The bill claims its purpose is “to protect the public against the unreasonable risk of injury and death associated with the unrecorded sale or transfer of firearms to criminals and youth."
This is nothing but pure political bullshit. It’s to make those who hate guns feel good. It’s bullshit. Guns sales are already recorded. There is already paperwork on every single person who has purchased a gun. It does not stop criminals from obtaining guns. Why? Because they are criminals and they don’t follow the law no matter HOW many bills you try to pass. Ever hear of THEFT?
Columnist David Codrea of Guns Magazine, however, calls it a “ridiculous affront to liberty.”
“This is nothing less than a declaration of war on American gun owners,” Codrea writes on Gun Rights Examiner.
Amen. And double, Amen. That is it, exactly.
Rush’s proposed bill, H.R. 45, is alternatively known as “Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009,” named after an Illinois teenager killed by a gunshot.
According the bill’s text, “On the afternoon of May 10, 2007, Blair Holt, a junior at Julian High School in Chicago, was killed on a public bus riding home from school when he used his body to shield a girl who was in the line of fire after a young man boarded the bus and started shooting."
Ok, here is the story of Blair Holt. Now, it is sad that this boy died and I do have sympathy for his family and friends. The kid was on the verge of starting a whole new life, getting close to graduating, having his own slice of the American dream and he died because of some twat. He died a hero, trying to save another from being shot. It is sickening. I agree.
Let’s examine the shooter. Read the article. The shooter was 16. We already have laws in place that do not allow 16 year olds the ability to buy a gun. A new law won’t make it impossible for other 16 year olds to obtain one. A 15 year old GAVE the gun to the 16 year old and the shooting was over a girl. The gun itself is not to blame. We need to start asking why a 16 year old decides he needs to shoot so many people. Start with THAT. That’s where we find some blame. Teach these kids some valuable lessons on what it is to be a human, DEAL with rejection, learn self esteem so that when they get rejected or lose, they can deal with the pain of it and move on and NOT fucking start shooting at people. Teach these kids that life isn’t fair and shit happens and you fucking move ON! This day and age, everyone gets a fucking trophy no matter what, win or lose. Everyone gets picked, everyone gets to be on the team. That does not teach a child how to deal with disappointment and rejection. It does not build self esteem, it builds a sense of entitlement and complete lack of skills needed to learn how to deal with conflict. This 16 year old who committed this act, even the 15 year old who helped him, had none of these skills. These are children as well. Parents and teachers, coaches and mentors have got to stop coddling every one and start teaching them the harsh realities of life. That is the only way that kids will learn to deal with the blows life brings them and not have other innocent kids dying because of the lack of all of these necessary skills that are vital to being a well rounded human being.
The bill then argues that interstate firearm trafficking and children dying from gun violence create legitimate cause for the federal government to monitor gun ownership and transfers in new ways.
If passed, the bill would make it illegal to own or possess a “qualifying firearm” – defined as any handgun or any semiautomatic firearm that takes an ammunition clip – without a “Blair Holt” license.
To obtain a “Blair Holt” license, an application must be made that includes a photo, address, all previous aliases, thumb print, completion of a written firearm safety test, release of mental health records to the attorney general and a fee not to exceed $25.
How, exactly, would that have prevented a 15 year old passing a gun on to a 16 year old who then gets on a bus and shoots up a number of people? Exactly HOW?
Further, the bill makes it illegal to transfer ownership of a qualifying firearm to anyone who is not a licensed gun dealer or collector. Exceptions to this rule include transfer to family members by gift or bequest and loans, not to exceed 30 days, of a firearm for lawful purposes “between persons who are personally known to each other."
Again, I ask, how does this prevent the Blair Holt story from happening? It doesn’t. It’s just more feel good bullshit from Capitol Hill at the expense of gun owners who already have to go through a pile of crap to get a gun despite our Constitutional Rights.
The bill also requires qualifying firearm owners to report all transfers to the attorney general’s database. It would also be illegal for a licensed gun owner to fail to record a gun loss or theft within 72 hours or fail to report a change of address within 60 days.
A lot can happen in 72 hours. Let’s say my house gets robbed when I’m not home. Tool shed goblin finds my firearm, steals it and goes out and kills the local Quick E Mart guy. How does all of this photo, thumbprint, mental health record bullshit prevent that?
And again, my gun is now tied to my driver’s license. Most states already have a law in place that states you must update your address on your license within a certain amount of time if you move. Most of them are far less than 60 days, so, again, this is all fluff. It prevents nothing but makes it that much more difficult for a legal, LAW abiding citizen to get a gun and makes them go through even more scrutiny such as the state of their mental health. That is insulting beyond all measures.
And if a minor obtains a weapon and injures someone with it, the owner of the gun – if deemed to have failed to meet certain safety requirements – faces a multiple-year jail sentence.
So it’s my fault if my place gets robbed and the criminal makes off with my weapon using it to kill someone. There I am, at work, having followed all the ridiculous laws for gun ownership, minding my own business, just trying to make it through the day when some assclown breaks in to my house, finds my gun, locked up, trigger lock whatever the law may be, STEALS the gun, kills someone and it’s MY FAULT?
It’s like saying if someone steals your car and gets in to a wreck, killing someone else, you are to be held responsible. “Well, if you didn’t want someone to steal your car, you shouldn’t have had a car in the first place!”
That’s the mentality. I put it in terms that all could understand despite their position on gun ownership.
H.R. 45 is a resurfacing of 2007’s H.R. 2666, which contained much of the same language and was co-sponsored by 15 other representatives and Barack Obama’s current chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel. H.R. 2666 was assigned to the House Judiciary committee, where no action was taken.
H.R. 45 currently has no co-sponsors and is likewise assigned to the House Judiciary committee.
Let’s keep it that way. It reminds me of that girl in line behind me at the gun show. Already closed minded on the whole thing within 30 seconds of entering the building. “I’m starting to feel sick....” No, bitch, I’M feeling sick at the attitude of people like you. Learn about what you don’t understand and stop letting the media tell you how to think.
