Black Friday

Every year I hear people getting excited for the shopping day after Thanksgiving, (aka “Black Friday").  I’ve only ventured out once or twice in my adult lifetime because I have enough traumatizing memories from my child hood about this day.  We would have to wake up at the crack of dawn, pile in to the car, drive, drive, drive, circle and circle for parking, get out, in to the stores and have to fight our ways through the crowds for that discounted price.

Sometimes in the news you’ll hear about people getting in to fist fights over some item such as the Elmo doll or an Xbox or clothing.  I never got into a fight when I was younger but I do distinctly remember finding a shirt that I really, really liked.  There was one left.  I got it.  My mother put it into the shopping cart and we continued our shopping.  Now, we are not the type of people to think like mean, evil, clothes stealing patrons so it did not occur to us that we needed to guard that cart with the shirt as if it were Fort Knox.  I will never forget that some horrible, ugly person stole my shirt out of our shopping cart and took off to the cashier to buy it for themselves.  Stole it!  From a child!!!!

It is because of memories such as this one that I tend to steer clear of shopping on Black Friday altogether.  Add to that the horrific traffic and it just doesn’t sound like it’s worth the discount to me.  But this year, things are going to be different.  This year I have learned about the Black Friday website.

I’m hesitant to tell you all about this site because for all I know, you, shirt stealing lady, may be out there in the audience, eager to steal another item right out from under me.  Nonetheless, I know a lot of you are like me and hate working through all those people, the long check out lines, the craziness that you see all around you, parking spaces taken before your very eyes despite your blinker and patience.....ugh.  I know.  That’s why I’m sharing.

Now, the Black Friday website also gives you the upper hand when it comes to those discount ads.  They will even email you to let you know when a new ad has been posted.  Usually you won’t be able to start planning until you get your newspaper right before Thanksgiving dinner but this site gives them to you before anyone else does.  Muhahahahhaa!

But mostly what is great about this site is the fact that I will not have to suffer through traffic, long lines, screaming, out of control children thundering about, unwanted information about people due to their unnecessarily loud cell phone conversations, anger, anger everywhere to get to one of my favorite stores, Target.  Oh yes, this website has the deals for Target.

Drool!

I do believe I’ve mentioned once or twice how much I LOVE Target.  I can sit at home, in my pajamas, sipping a hot chocolate or eating some left over Turkey and cranberry sauce and go to the Black Friday website, get my discount link directly to the product I wish to purchase, click the mouse a few times and BAM!  Christmas shopping is done!  Now doesn’t that sound much better than the old fashioned way?

Plus, also?  You know Target.  You know how dangerous it can be.  You know that you can walk in there with a list, steeled with determination that this time you are only buying what is on your list, I swear!  And, you well know, that you will fail once again and walk out with way more than you ever intended.  But dang aren’t you happy?

And really, this Black Friday site is doing all the work for you so that you can remain comfortable, happy, relaxed and better able to make sound, clear spending decisions.  They have a number of different stores that most of you probably shop in so go look them up and this year, keep your sanity.

I’m definitely using this site.
