Bugs and Buses

If I was into Entomology, I would love the bug population here in Texas.  But I’m not.  I don’t fear bugs, (except paooki....who aren’t really classified as insects), but I’m not particularly fond of them.  That is to say, as long as they go about their business and remain out of sight, I’m perfectly okay with them.  The ones here though seem to love to make themselves known.

At that party on Friday, someone told me to eat Vitamin B; that it would keep the mosquitos away.  Any thoughts on this?

Just encountered another HUGE cockroach...in the kitchen...again!  It was stuck on its back.  I let it struggle for probably a good two hours to teach it a lesson.  Then I flung its nasty bugbutt outside.  Next time, I won’t be so nice.

Yesterday, I walked to the store to get some food.  This isn’t a short walk and it was kinda hot, (for me anyway).  I was on my way back, about 1 block from where I turn off the main avenue and go down sidestreets to my home.  The bus stop wasn’t for another 3 blocks but a bus driver saw me and stopped and waited...just in case I might need a ride.  I didn’t and waved him on after saying thank you but do you know how damn cool that is?  That is the coolest thing!  In Seattle, the bus drivers floor it when they see you coming.  It’s like they get a sick pleasure out of making you miss the bus.  I was very touched by this warm gesture....what a thoughtful bus driver.  I almost wished I wasn’t so close to home just so I could take him up on his offer.  THAT sort of kindness is what I was told to expect in Texas.  Thank you Mr. Bus Driver, where ever you are.

Today is a really nice day.  It’s almost 2pm and it’s only 73 degrees and there is a slight breeze blowing.  Now this is the type of weather I could get used to!

Man I love this state.
