Car Shopping

One of the worst things about going car shopping is knowing that if you don’t know your stuff, the dealer is going to screw you over, playing that ridiculous, “I have to go talk to the manager” game.  You know the one, you give a price, they pretend to talk to their manager to see if that deal can be done and they go in to a back room and laugh at you if they think you don’t have a clue about the car you’re interested in.

The absolute best thing to do before shopping for a car is to review several different types of cars.  A great place to start is The Car Connection.  Let’s say that you’re interested in a Chevy Camaro.  Under New or Used cars, you select your make and model and that will bring you to your page of choices.  In this example, we’re picking a 2010 model because who doesn’t like that new car smell?  Here you’ll find several different reviews from professional to customer, (always the best).  You have the option to view many photos of the car, check out the specs, get information on where the car rates in safety, performance, overall quality as well as top likes and dislikes.

Or maybe you want to check out the Lexus IS.  Again, several reviews to read as well as MSRP, so you can have an idea of what you should be looking to spend before you go.  This way you can decide, beforehand, if spending 50 grand on this car is really what you want to do or if you want to choose another car, more in your price range.  (If you’re like me and cannot afford such a luxury car.)

So, you can’t afford the sports car, can’t afford the luxury car, why not try a Honda Civic?  Everyone can afford the Honda Civic.  Plus, as I know from personal experience, you can beat the ever loving crap out of a Honda and that baby will still run.  So, Honda it is?  Click the links for trim to ensure you get the look that you want.  Take a look at the gas mileage they get, not too bad.  Check out the web videos so you can see it in action.  You can even get Honda insurance quotes, financing quotes and even assistance finding one in the classifieds.  (This is a great feature, allowing you to compare without leaving your home.)

Kids, if you’re in the market for a new car, make sure to do your homework before you go.  Take as much information as you can, go prepared.  Remember, knowledge is power and you want to have the power over that purchase, not the dealer.  Car Connection has many makes and models to check out, massive information-even some you may not have thought about researching, and can make shopping for a new car an enjoyable experience so that when you drive out of that lot with your new car, you know you got the best deal.
