Do They Hate Their Own?
Here’s something I don’t understand at all. I live where there are a lot of Cubans yet the other day I’m out walking, I pass by a store, and they have out, in their display windows for anyone on the street to see, images glorifying Che Guevara. Uh....what?
I roll my eyes at the apathetic youth of this country who proudly wear their Che t-shirts because I realize that many of them have absolutely no idea who this person really was. They only hear, ‘overthrow government’, ‘revolution’ and ‘helping le pobre rise up’ and living in a ‘classless society’ and think they’ve heard enough. The guy must be some sort of hero then! Of course! Fucking idiots. Let’s ask some Cuban Americans and those from Russia just how well communism worked out for them.
I especially love it when those very same people who think Che was the shit are the ones who call Bush, Hitler and tell us to leave Iraq alone; no more killing, no more hatred.
Hmmm. I wonder who said this: "Hatred as an element of struggle; unbending hatred for the enemy, which pushes a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him into an effective, violent, selective, and cold-blooded killing machine. This is what our soldiers must become …"
Oh, let me guess....it’s because Che fought despite his asthma. Wow! A true martyr! Yes! Who cares that many people deal with asthma every day, only Che is a bonafide hero for doing so. That giving, giving man! Let’s all wear t-shirts with his image burned upon them!
Anyway, despite their bloody, blatant hypocrisy, I don’t necessarily get mad at the youth who think Che was great. They’re idiots and as much as they proclaim to be non conformist, they are the biggest conformists I’ve ever known. (Like, hi, does anyone not realize that communism needs conformity to succeed? There is no freedom in communism, dolts.)
What I’m baffled at is the fact that the shop owner who displays Che...trinkets, I’ll call them, is from Cuba! Does this asshole actually like Castro? Does he think Castro has it right? If so, what the hell is he doing in this country? It’s no different than me wondering, pre Iraq war, why an Iraqi citizen would find his way to America and then proclaim how great he thought Saddam was. It makes absolutely zero sense to me.
It’s been awhile since I’ve taken Spanish and I haven’t had to use it in many years so I’m very rusty. I need a refresher course. This shop owner has furthered my motivation to learn it, fluently, just so I can go in there and tell him what a fucking moron he is.
And just in case any little Che and Castro glorifiers happen along, please refresh your memory on what a dictator really is. How can you say what you do about Bush, calling him a dictator, yet hold dear one of the worst dictators known in modern times? How can you go off on the Right, foaming at the mouth about moral values and codes yet support dictatorship? You do know that a dictator is one who holds all power over the people? You know, moral and political absolutism?
Hot damn you Che/Castro lovers are brilliant. You probably have your GED up on the wall behind glass, too, don’t you? Or are you still working on that goal? Or is that why you like Che/Castro so much?

Lazy, uneducated sheep. I’m hating people more and more every day. Today I despise the shop owner on the street three blocks from my home. Thank G-d they, (those who think socialism and communism are great), are the minority despite what liberal bitches in Seattle think who go to people’s housewarming/friend’s going away party and won’t shut their ignorant mouths up when it comes to politics only making themselves look like bigger fools. (That last sentence was for long time readers with excellent memories.)
All I can hope is that one day these people will pick up a fricken book and start learning the realities behind these glorified killers.
