Fair And Better

I used eBay a long time ago and found it to be quite frustrating at times due to a couple of things.  The first, is learning the hard way that you don’t bid until the absolute very last second possible before the auction time is over.  The second, you don’t always get quality stuff.  Frankly, eBay has a lot of junk.

So what do you do when you want to bid on something?  It’s great to be able to get something below cost, isn’t it?  Sure, you can clip coupons but who remembers those when they go to the store?  I never remember my dang coupons.  Not only that, you don’t get very much off the price of retail.  Auctions usually bode better, price wise.  So, what to do?  Well, kids, there is a new way to do it.  Jump on to a site called Swizzie.

The concept is similar to eBay, you are bidding on an item that you want.  What makes it different is that it gives everyone a chance to bid instead of setting a precise time.  For example, say you are bidding on a digital camera.  The clock begins at the first bid made, (not necessarily by you).  Each time someone else bids, 1 second is added to the clock if there are more than 15 seconds left in the auction.  So if you have 30 people bidding, that adds another 30 seconds to the clock.  If there are less than 15 seconds to go until the auction is over and someone comes along and bids, 15 more seconds are added to the clock which can make the auction quite interesting.  Rather than have someone jump in with 2 seconds to go and make a bid and you get squashed like a bug and lose, you get an additional 15 seconds added to the clock to give you a fair shot at tossing out another bid.  As someone who has lost too many auctions on other sites because of those who wait until the last second to bid, I like this idea.  I like this idea very, very much.

What also makes this different is that each bid costs you 60 cents so you better be bidding on something you actually want.  It will also help with keeping things fair because you won’t have people bringing their friends along to bid up making the item look more popular than it may be.

Should you win the auction, you would pay the difference.  So, back to the digital camera.  You’ve been watching the auction, you were the last one to bid, the clock has run out, you win!  Hurray!  You bid 3 times costing you $1.80 total.  That $1.80 will be deducted from the price of the camera...in other words, you would pay the difference after winning.

To help you along the way, say you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift for someone, visit Swizzie Reviews to get an idea on things to bid on.  For example, it is possible to bid on an Amazon Kindle and win it for less than retail price!  Cool beans!

Finally, if you go to Swizzie Live Auctions, you will find a blog that provides you with tips, how to guides and strategies to help you win the auction you are participating in.  It also provides some ideas for gifts such as stocking stuffers, for the holidays.

And, kids, most importantly....every single thing you are bidding on?  IS BRAND NEW!  You will no longer hope that what you get actually looks like the picture posted, isn’t filthy, broken, tattered or abused....it’s brand, spankin’ new.

Now, you’re excited, you want to get over there but I am about to add the icing on the cake:  All shipping is FREE!  Free!  Do you hear me?  It’s FREE!!!  Try that with a coupon or eBay!  HA!

I can’t think of a better auction site for new items.  It’s fair, fun and easy to use.
