I Think They're Finally Learning To Accept

For three plus years that I have worked here, I have been given a hard time for my vocabulary.  Jokes have been made that I’m using big words too early in the morning, some have attempted to out vocab me and some actually get angry and think that I’m trying to make them look bad.

For the past few months, I’ve not heard much about it all.

Then, today, the following conversation took place:

Young, Inexperienced, College Drop Out Manager:  Is everybody’s boat clean and gassed?

Me:  (as a joke) It’s raining!  I can’t clean my boat in the rain!

Young blah blah Manager:  When it’s raining is when boats should be cleaned.  It’s imperant.

Me:  Imperant?

Young blah blah Manager:  Imperant.

Me:  Are you trying to say, “It’s imperative”?

Young blah blah Manager:  No, I mean ‘imperant’.  ‘Imperative’ is past tense.

Me:  ::incredulous stare::

Co-worker:  You’re going to try to get in to a vocabulary war with HER?!

Young blah blah Manager:  ....  ::walks off::

Just so you all know, it’s imperant that you read this site and bask in my every day joy.
