It Begins
It’s official, NaNoWriMo has begun. I’m 2 1/2 hours in to the launch and I’ve already written 1118 words. The goal for the day is 1667 but I’ve found a good stopping point, am going to let that sit while I sleep and then I’ll get up and continue writing. Usually my best ideas come right as I’m waking up. I’m off for the next two days so I’ll be doing a whole lot of writing.
What I have now, not too bad, actually. But who knows how the rest is going to go. I’ll give you a sneak peek since I allowed this to be up on my name on the NaNo site:
“You know how you get annoyed when you have mosquitoes buzzing in your ear and biting you?”, she asked her room full of unwilling guests. “That’s how I feel about all of you. And do you know what you do to those mosquitoes? Yes. That’s right.” She paused for effect before continuing, “Eventually, you will suffer the same.”
Like I said, it’s no literary masterpiece and I don’t expect it to be anything anyone will ever want to read but, that’s my opening. It gets real dark from there. I’m not even going to try to explain why I chose mosquitoes to describe pests or what the plot is or really, how shitty my writing is, it just is. It’s liberating, it’s fun, it’ll probably suck complete ass but I’m creating something and that’s all that matters.
I have several photos of “The Hounds of Serenity’sville”, (I love that), and will be displaying them in the coming entries. My writing may stink but my photography isn’t so bad.
So, kids, I’ll either see you when I have a complete and total melt down/writer’s block or I’ll see you on the other side, when it’s all done.
