Learning Self Defense At Home

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in martial arts and have thought about taking classes.  The problem is I could never decide which of the martial arts I wanted to train for and I didn’t want to put down money on classes that ended up not being what I want to learn.

For people like me, who are curious about the martial arts, want to see what is available, learn some of the basic techniques before deciding which one to pursue, there is an answer.  Padup.com offers martial arts equipment supplies that include instructional DVDs.  By purchasing these DVDs, I can see for myself if I like that particular art or if I wish to spend the time and resources to learn another.

In addition to the DVDs, once I did decide on which art to study, I would be able to purchase equipment for my home so that I could practice as much as I wanted in the privacy of my own home.

Granted, you do need to spar with other students to really learn the arts and you do need an instructor in case you run in to any roadblocks but starting out at home, learning basics and practicing with all types of equipment is not a bad idea.

I can now try a few DVDs, find the particular martial art that I know I want to learn, get some of the moves down, learn things along the way and practice at any time of the day in my own house.  Not being enslaved to the hours of a studio is great because life can get busy at times and sometimes some of us don’t get the desire to practice during those hours.  (I usually get a second wind right around 8pm or 9pm.  Or sometimes, the mood just strikes me out of nowhere but the very thought of having to get dressed, fight through the traffic, find parking, etc. quickly unmotivates me.) With all of the equipment available along with the instructional DVDs, I can now start down the road to learning martial arts like I’ve always wanted.
