My Opinion On Your Opinion
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel had an opinion piece earlier this week and because I can’t seem to find the name of the author anywhere on this page, I will say to the Sun-Sentinel: Suck a rotten one.
Hysteria Fuels Ridiculous Unclaimed Piece
Aaaand here we go again with the slam to gun owners, specifically, this time, in the state of Florida. Yah, it’s on.
It is time for many South Floridians to get a grip. Not on their weapons, but on their senses.
I’ve got a grip on both, tool shed, but please, do continue with your enlightened view points.
First, there was the big run on guns, both locally and nationally, when it was feared the Obama administration would quickly enact tougher gun legislation that would make it difficult to own guns.
Didn’t happen.
Well hell, I learn something new every day. Apparently presidential terms only last a month. Since that’s how long St. Hope and Change has been in office. Just because he hasn’t yet, doesn’t mean he won’t. Give the man some time. He has four years at the least and lately he’s been awfully busy raping this country of all its hard earned money. Once he’s done insuring that we will all live in grass huts in his new camps, cowtowed to and kissed terrorist ass, I’m sure he’ll get started on our Bill of Rights. He has to tackle the First Amendment before he conquers the Second Amendment. I understand you think he’s Jesus but have some patience!
And doesn’t figure to happen, particularly since the Supreme Court has reinforced the right of an individual to bear arms.
Rulings have been known to change. Especially with the proper amount of Benjamins exchanging hands. But that would never happen. Nope. No one has ever been bought off. Ever.
But that hasn’t deterred some South Floridians, who are storming gun shops for ammunition - particularly rounds for military-style assault weapons.
“Storming”. Oh Christ on a cracker, exaggeration does not become you.
One firearms shop manager in Davie told the Sun Sentinel he received a shipment of five 1,000-round boxes of .223 caliber rifle cartridges, and sold all five boxes in one day. At $450 a box. During a recession.
Where to begin on the stupidity. I mean, the idiot practically fisks him/herself. Sigh. Education time, numbnuts. Five 1,000 round boxes--you do realize that ammunition does not come in BOXES of 1000 right? That would be a CRATE. A CRATE that contains 50, fifty, 50 boxes of ammunition. I don’t purchase .223 caliber cartridges but I am going to wager a guess that each box does not contain 1000 cartridges. I’m going to guess each box contains somewhere around 20, 25...?? In fact, I’ll bet the farm those boxes do not contain 1000 cartridges that’s how sure I am.
So, let’s get back to what ‘anonymous’ spewed in that paragraph. Five 1000 round boxes. What the idiot MEANT to say was five 1000 round crates. So, no one purchased a single box of .223 ammunition containing 20-25 cartridges for $450. The 1000 round CRATE may have given the shop owner $450 when all was said and done but each box did not cost $450. Der.
During a recession. Yes, precisely. That is the point, exactly. That would be one of the many reasons people have been going out and buying guns and ammunition. Because of a recession that is on the fast track to becoming a depression. And people do some nasty things when they get hungry and desperate. Nasty things they might not otherwise have done. People become uncivilized when they are in that type of situation. Hell, half of them are already uncivilized. Now take away their job, their home, their food, their rights...they get downright mean. And start to covet. And coveting can turn disastrous. And some people see that coming. And want to protect their own. Because law enforcement is just a few minutes away when seconds count.
And just because 52% of this country are idiots does not mean that the other 48% are. They are not trusting their government. Every time St. Hope and Change opens his mouth, the Dow drops. And he talks about taking things away from us. And he talks of doom and gloom. And many people are looking upon him and Congress warily. And they plan ahead, just in case as our Founding Fathers said we had the right to do. Our 2nd Amendment is to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government, as well. And while he has only been in office for just over a month, we are really, really, really not liking what we are seeing. Our country, our way of life....looks like it’s being strangled to death with each passing day. And some of us do not want our country to die. Some of us want to keep our country alive and OUR country.
Further, the implication that we should be spending our money elsewhere during a recession, NO LESS, is annoying. I will spend my money however the hell I see fit. I earned it, I will do with it as I wish. I would much rather buy a couple of guns than give my money to some asshole who bought a house they could not afford and now want me to bail them out of it. Fuck you for making a bad decision and doing nothing to fix it. Leave me and my money alone.
A Delray Beach shop manager said customers were buying rounds for AR-15s and AK-47s in large quantities, and said “the rumor mill’s going nuts."
And what are these “rumors”, pray tell? Surely, as someone who writes for a living, you would be curious as to what rumors, specifically, and would question. Oh you mean how St. Hope and Change wants to work on that pesky assault weapon thingie again? How he wants to BAN them? That rumor mill? The one that he and Pelosi in-a-box were just talking about? (See, I told you he would get around to start messing with the guns if you just calmed down and waited for it.)
Again, gun owners use the rationale that ammo is somehow going to be taken away by the government, and that a crackdown is coming. Conspiracy theorists are everywhere.
Ahem. St. Hope and Change Calls For Permanent Assault Weapons Ban.
You mean those “rumors”?
As for who is buying the ammo, a Pompano Beach dealer said, “Everybody. Your normal Joe is now buying four, five boxes. . ."
So what? I bought two boxes, (ohmyGawd The HORROR!!!!11!!ELEVENTY1!!!!!!), of ammo when I picked up my gun after my waiting period. And that was just because I didn’t bring more money with me at the time. During a recession no less! See, these insipid gun owners do this silly little thing called, “going to the range” to shoot at targets to get really good at shooting their unnecessary firearms. And they also think, “What good is a gun if I have no ammo?” See, the gun, without ammo, is kind of useless. Sure, you could smack someone over the head with it but I think the bullet is a little more convincing.
Which means that in South Florida, the “normal Joe” who lives next-door might be filling up a spare room with ammo for an AR-15. Hardly a calming thought.
OH SHIT! My neighbor has FIVE WHOLE BOXES of ammo in their house! How can they even move around with all that ammo lying around, willy nilly, out of control? They must be out of their everloving MINDS! They’ll probably go on a rampage one day with those FIVE..oh my God, FIVE boxes of ammo!!!
This crayon obviously has NO clue just how big five boxes of ammunition are. I have my two boxes...well, ok, I loaded one box in to the magazines I currently have. One mag is in the gun and the other mag is in the gun case, within reach. Should I go CRAZY and get three more boxes of ammo, they would easily fit in to my little drawer in the kitchen that fits nothing else because it’s so small. JESUS CHRIST, have I lost my mind! Two magazines AND three extra boxes of ammo neatly stored in a small kitchen drawer? When will the insanity end???
Semi-automatic weapons should be banned, because the “normal Joe” simply doesn’t need one, for protection or anything else.
That is probably THE dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Not only do they not understand ammunition, they have NO clue about semi automatic weapons and how great they bring down a goblin. Let’s all just wait for the police to show up instead! “Excuse me, robber goblin, would you be so kind as to hold that thought until the police arrive? Then you can go ahead and commit your crime. It’s only fair.”
Or how about this scenario:
:::glass shattering:::
“Give me your wallet! Where’s all your money, asshole?”
:::ker-chunk:::
“Eeer....nevermind! AAAAAAAHHHHH!”
:::sound of goblin footsteps fleeing from residence:::
Further, using this rationale, then cars should be banned, as well. We don’t “need” them and they kill a whole lot of people every year. And we can also ban swimming pools. Again, not a “need” and 10,000 children drown in a pool every year. This list is endless.
But the ban has expired...
For now. See above, twit.
...and having more guns and ammo on the streets simply makes South Florida a more dangerous place, for cops and regular citizens alike.
For the LOVE of GOD I am tired of having to trot out the fucking facts about gun ownership and the crime statistics. When more law abiding citizens OWN guns in their homes, LESS crime happens. When law abiding citizens are not allowed to have guns, MORE crime happens. Look at Britain. Look at Washington D.C. And SHUT the fuck up with these lies!
It’s time for the hysteria to stop.
I could not agree with you more on this statement. Stop the hysterical, “NO MORE GUNS” mantra that the left loves to shout having no evidence to back up their claims. None. ZERO.
BOTTOM LINE: No need for this craziness.
“BOTTOM LINE: No need for this craziness spouted in this article or from anyone else on the far left.”
Fixed it for you.

You know, I think this weekend I’m going to go and purchase some more BOXES of ammo just to spite this fool.
