Serenity's Guide: Helpful Blog Post Reading Tips

This may be an ongoing type entry.  So, here is the first tip.

Tip #1:  Because I’m doing paid ads now, (got goals, kids, got goals), if you see a post without comments enabled, 99% of the time it’s because it’s a paid ad.  Now, some advertisers do not like us to put in our posts that it’s a paid ad and that is why many of them, lately, do not have my little disclosure at the top.  They are paying me, I follow their rules.  (You see?  I have mentioned countless times in the past that if someone wanted to pay me to write, I would follow what they said...I kept that promise.)

Ooh, I just thought of another tip.

Tip #2:  Often times I will have a regular post in between those ads because it is a requirement by the ad sites I write for.  So, just because the very top post looks like a paid ad, it does not mean that is all I have written that day.  I try to keep 10 entries on the main page these days because I’m a) busy and fricken exhausted by the time I get home and therefore not so inclined to write every day and b) hoping to give you all many things to read.  Now, I don’t know what it is about this site but it seems, in the entire four years I’ve been here, that people will only check for the top post and that is it.  If I write three posts one day, two of them don’t get read.  It’s a strange phenomenon....or maybe I’m just not that interesting.  But I don’t think it’s that because generally the same number of people come here day after day...maybe not the same people every single day, but the same amount.  So, I implore you all to exercise the scroll button on your mouseses so that you don’t miss one single episode of Serenity goodness.

Oh they’re rolling out of my mind now.

Tip #3:  Generally, on my days off, I’ll write a lot because the creative wheels have been turning all week long and since I don’t have to do anything, I can sit here and write.  The fact that I live in peaceful surroundings now has also assisted those creative wheels because at long last I am able to fully relax and rejuvenate with some fracken peace and quiet for crying out loud, FINALLY, and can now think much more clearly.  I’m not the type who can study and write essays with the music blaring in my ears.  I need absolute peace and quiet for my thoughts to flow out...and when I get that, that’s usually what happens....the stuff just starts flying out and posts are written before I even fully know what I’m doing.  It’s kind of like what Gwen Stefani says in her HP commercial.

Ok, that’s enough tips for today.  As stated, I’m sure there will be more.  Enjoy kids.  I’ll probably write more later today and most definitely will be writing again tomorrow.
