Slamming the Door on Big Brother
Ever have to sign one of those pieces of paper that states you will not use the internet at work for anything other than work related reasons?
At my second to last job I had to do such a thing. Of course, because I was pals with most of the people in IT, and in all honesty, because everyone kept doing it anyway, I went ahead and surfed and played games and basically wasted time for the last 6 months I was there. (Hey, if the boss is going to sit on the phone all day with her friends and my co-worker is playing games, yet in a year, we all get the exact same raise, what is my incentive to keep working hard? That’s right, THERE ISN’T ANY!)
My new job is not in corporate America, (Grazi a Dio!), and I actually think I’m going to LIKE it in addition to the fact that your raises are based on how hard you work and can come at any time, (MAJOR INCENTIVE to bust my ass even harder than I normally do), so I will not have the opportunity to see if the following actually works:
ARE YOU BEING WATCHED?
Fact: more and more companies are watching, restricting, and recording your Internet activity at the office. Eventually, your online activities could come back to haunt you - resulting in penalties, suspensions, even termination.
What can I do?: OfficeSurfer lets you surf in privacy from your office, bypassing corporate restrictions on specific web sites, defeating monitoring software, and preventing routine logging of your online activities.
Check personal email accounts… visit your favorite web sites… worry-free and hassle-free.
Read the entire thing. Does anyone know if this really works? If not, is anyone sick and tired of their job and looking for an excuse to get canned? If so, would you please try this out before you go?
[Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible if this product actually does work and your hopes of being pink slipped due to its use doesn’t happen thus causing you to have to come up with other antics to get yourself tossed out on your ass that may or may not give you trouble sometime down the road causing you to look back at this time with regret and remembering that I had asked you to try this out before resorting to other means in an effort to get yourself fired.]
