The American Dream
Grow up, study hard, work your way to the top, buy a piece of land and put a house on it. Damn that sounds nice doesn’t it? How wonderful it would be to own a piece of land, private property, YOURS!
That was the old America.
In our new, socialist/communist, “for the common good we’re going to tax you up the ass”, mecca run by a bunch of psychotics, private property-land ownership isn’t so grand anymore. Why? Because you don’t actually “own” it, now do you?
This Grass Is Your Grass....No, Actually, This Grass Is Our Grass...
Officials in the Livingston Parish village say, the tall grass is not only a public nuisance, it’s a crime.
No wonder I can never find a damn cop when I need one. They’re out there capturing the REAL criminals!
Village police will be keeping a close eye on the unweildy weeds.
(Nice spelling there, did you learn that in journalism school?) I find the term, “Village police” to be very disturbing.
If the grass gets above eight inches, the resident gets a letter. From there, unruly land owners could face a fine of up to $500 or up to 60 days in jail.
Sixty days in jail for tall grass. Sixty fucking days in jail for tall grass.
“The prisons are overcrowded”
“The cops don’t have enough manpower”
“When seconds matter, the cops are only minutes away”

“This land is not your land, this land is our land, and we will govern, with an iron fist, man....”
So...if I decide not to blow the leaves off of my patio for weeks on end, am I committing a crime? I’m sorry, I haven’t received my indoctrination booklet from our overlord yet.
