The Joys Of Growing Older
Did I say older? Then I am apparently a medical miracle. I am a self-made flowing fountain of youth. Not only do I still get carded for everything under the sun, I have a brand new surprise!
Did I say older? Then I am apparently a medical miracle. I am a self-made flowing fountain of youth. Not only do I still get carded for everything under the sun, I have a brand new surprise!
Before I continue, I know I have a plethora of new readers so let me bring you up to speed. I’m 34 years old.
Now that we are all on the same page, my mouth has been hurting for about a week now. At first I thought, “Maybe I have a cavity.” Then I thought, “Well, I haven’t been doing a real good job at putting in my nightguard each night before I go to sleep.” (I grind my teeth in my sleep.)
Well guess what. At the age of 34!!! I have a wisdom tooth that has broken through. Yes, at 34! I’m still cutting teeth!
When I was 18, I had x-rays taken of my teeth and I had NO wisdom teeth in the bottom row and the two in the top row were so far up there, the dentist said, “Have it checked in another 5 years.” And I did. At age 24, I went to another dentist who took x-rays. Still no wisdom teeth in the bottom row and the top two were still where they had been before. He told me that they would never break through.
Everything I’ve read about wisdom teeth has stated no age higher than 25. That is 9 years ago for me folks. Did I mention I am 34!
wtf!?
This sucks for several reasons:
1) I do not have a job.
2) This means I have no money.
3) This means I also don’t have any insurance.
4) Crap!
5) I’m deathly afraid of needles.
6) I don’t particularly like the sight of blood either, especially when it’s my own.
7) Sucking on a blood drenched piece of guaze while a big hole in my mouth heals, doesn’t sound like a lot of fun to me.
8) Crap again!
Do I have to get it removed? Only a dentist will know for sure but it hurts like a biotch already and I don’t have a lot of room in my mouth for another tooth!
Does anybody have any Zwieback cookies?
BTW: When I lived in WA state, it was possible to get dental insurance with pretty damn good coverage for about $20/month outside of any job one might have. (This was good for those who were self employed, etc.) Since I just moved here to TX, I’m still learning much about this state. Do any of you from TX know if there is the same kind of thing here? If so, PLEASE send me the information or a phone number or whatever you got. Thanks.
