Wait...What?

Ok kids, it’s been a horribly long week.  It’s been hot, it’s been busy, moral sucks around the place anymore and the tourists have apparently never heard of the word, “tip”.  So, you will have to excuse me, as I catch up on some news here, when I tell you that I absolutely do not understand this:

Hawaii Doesn’t Have To Answer Requests For Information Regarding St. Hope and Change’s Birth Certificate

Sigh.  Let me try to just organize my thoughts here so I can try to gain some sort of understanding…

St. Hope and Change decides to run for President.

As with ANY OTHER politician, the candidates are vetted.  Vetting includes, oh, I don’t know, ensuring that they are legally allowed to become President of the United States.  You know, are they over 35, have they lived here over 14 years, are they a natural born citizen....the drill.

To accomplish age and citizenship, one needs only a birth certificate.  You get that and BAM!  Those questions are answered.

So, McCain had to provide his birth certificate.  I’m sure Palin and Biden did as well.

But what about St. Hope and Change?

There seemed to be a whooooole lot of dust up over St. Hope and Change.  I don’t understand why.  It should be a pretty simple task to accomplish.  We all have to obtain a copy of our birth certificate to get a passport and while I know that doesn’t always mean it’s a copy of the actual, original, birth certificate, (trust me, I KNOW this better than most), it does indeed serve as a legal birth certificate and we aren’t running for President of the United States.  We just want to travel.  So, should there be any information that may be changed from the original birth certificate, SURELY the vital information such as WHERE and WHEN someone was born would remain the same.  RIGHT?

(In my case, my copy is not of my original birth certificate.  I actually cannot get that one.  I was adopted.  No matter how many times I ask, I will always get the one with the adopted parents name on it and NOT the biological names.  I’m sure someone out there will tell me, “Of course you can!” but I would like to stop you before you bother because I’ve tried for over a decade and of course I cannot!  Nonetheless, every. other. last. piece. of information on that birth certificate is precisely what the original says.  So, where I was born and when, no problem.)

But for St. Hope and Change, it was a battle.  Until finally, after much gnashing of teeth, we got to see a copy of a certificate of live birth on some stupid fucking blog.  Really?!?!?!

But we were NOT! TO! QUESTION!  That WAS the answer and we all needed to shut the hell up about it now, you got your damn certificate, suck it up and accept that he is your president!

Except, I’ve never accepted that.  And everyone can drink the Kool-Aid and tell me I’m wrong here but it has never once made a damn lick of sense to me.

And now?

It makes even less sense.

Why, praytell, would Hawaii suddenly decide that they do not need to answer any questions regarding St. Hope and Change’s birth certificate-the one under “lock and key”?  SURELY it would have the same information as say, the so called certificate of live birth, would it not?!  What would be the harm, then, in revealing such a document?  We’ve seen the “certificate of live birth”, what is there to hide?

Well apparently there is something there to hide.  Enough that Hawaii has decided that they aren’t going to show or talk about the actual birth certificate to anyone and damnit, you all just stop fucking asking us about it!

WHY IS THAT?!

If someone is going to be President of the United States, we need to know that he is actually eligible to BE the President.  And IF the “certificate of live birth” has damn near the same information as the actual birth certificate, then what is the fucking problem with revealing it and letting this die, once and for all!

OH, wait a minute....I just thought of something....didn’t they SAY...kids, I swear to GOD I read this all over the place back then, that the “certificate of live birth” was all they had?!  That WAS the document as Hawaii didn’t have birth certificates at the time or some such horseshit?

But now, suddenly, they DO have an actual birth certificate and we are assholes for asking about it and by GUM, Hawaii is putting its foot down and telling us, “SHUT UP and STOP BUGGING US, we’re NOT showing it to you!”

WHAT?!!?!?!?!!?!

Not showing what to us?  What exactly because didn’t they say IT DIDN’T FUCKING EXIST???

Maybe I got too much sun this week because I sure as fuck do not understand this at all.

GottDAMNIT!  Now I’m going to have to go through archives to find all those links where this was stated.  SURELY I cannot be the only one who remembers this?
