Why Is This So Difficult For So Many To Understand?

All over the internet there are great debates going on about if you don’t vote for this one, you are throwing your vote away and you’re spitting on the troops and, basically, voting for the other guy.

Long ago I had a long discussion about this idea of voting for the lesser of the two evils.  At the time of that discussion, the one I voted for didn’t seem all that evil.  Sure, I didn’t agree with his stance on every issue but overall, didn’t seem evil.  So I failed to fully grasp how one could “throw away” a vote by writing in a third candidate.

This go round, I get it.  Many are arguing that if McCain wins the nomination that it’s better to vote for him because it will keep Hitlery or Osama out of office.  Others are stating that voting for McCain isn’t really better than those two so they will not give him their vote.

I, for one, am in the latter group.  I cannot vote for McCain.  He does not stand for what I believe in and he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  I will not vote for him just to keep a vote away from the other two fools.

What angers me is that people state that by standing up for your own principles and writing in a third party on the ticket, that you are voting for the other person.  No.  I am voting FOR who I think is the best candidate.  That candidate is not on the ballot so I will be writing them in.  Excuse me but I will NOT be held responsible for how the rest of the country votes.  I do not accept that if Hitlery or Osama win the election it is MY fault or even PARTLY my fault because I chose to vote FOR the best person for the job--which will be a write in since he dropped out.  I am not going to the polls to vote for Hitlery or Osama, I am going to the polls to vote FOR who I think will do the best job.  If one of the Donks win because of that, it is NOT my fault.  I cannot control how the rest of the country thinks.  That’s such a bullshit argument it blows my mind that someone would even think it worthy of the light of day.

I am NOT throwing away my vote by writing in my choice.  I am voting.  Am I not voting?  So because I don’t like either candidate for the Dem or Repub side suddenly my vote is wasted?  Really?  REALLY?  No.  Again, I have the right to vote and I AM voting FOR who I think would be the best person for the job.  Is it the majority?  No.  But it is not a waste simply because I don’t feel like telling either of the two that they are now allowed to fuck us all straight up the ass for the next 4 years.  I will not say that to anyone, ever.  I do not have to vote for either the Dem or the Repub candidate.  This is a free country, my right to vote states that I can vote for whomever the fuck I think is the best candidate.  If you want to lie down and take it up the ass for 4 years simply because one will use lubricant and it will be slightly less painful, then you go right ahead and do that.  But don’t you dare expect me to lay down and accept that.  My vote does count because it is me, fighting all the way to the end.  I’m not giving up and just going for the lesser of the two evils because, oh well, what can we do about it, it’s over, just pick this one....no fucking way.

And this is not about ego either.  I’m sick to death of people stating it’s because of ego that I would not pull the lever for fucking McCain should he get the nomination.  This has nothing to do with ego.  This has everything to do with what I think is right and what I think is wrong.  I think it is right to fight for what you believe in even if that is not popular and I think it is wrong to lay down and let someone ass rape you because it won’t hurt as much as it will with the other candidate.

And as for spitting on the troops if I don’t vote for McCain?  That allegation is insulting beyond any measure.  I WAS a troop.  I do indeed support the military and I am very proud of the troops, respect the shit out of anyone who serves and protects this country.  How DARE someone insinuate that by me refusing to lay down and take it up the ass I am in someway shitting on the troops who died for this country.  Excuse the fuck out of me but those troops died so that I CAN vote for whomever the fuck I wish to vote for.  Or has that idea been lost on those who are so blindly led by a fucking letter behind someone’s name?

McCain is not a fucking Republican.  Period.  He is a Democrat.  He wears the Republican label but that’s like me wearing J-Lo’s infamous green award show dress and stating I’m a celebrity because of it.

“Oh but he’ll be strong on the war on terror.” Bullshit.  He doesn’t even want to do shit about the borders...how the fuck can someone be strong on the war on terror if they let any Tom, Dick and Harry get in to this country and get amnesty?  What kind of bullshit reasoning is that?  You want to show support for the troops?  Help them the fuck out and vote for someone who wants to keep this country protected by gathering up these illegals, shipping them the fuck back home and tightening borders.  McCain is not going to do that.  But I’M the one who doesn’t support the troops because I won’t vote for him.

Brilliant fucking argument.

Many of the sites I’ve seen, the writers have been fairly decent in their approach and most of the commenters have as well.  There are a handful of people out there though who want to make such ridiculous accusations and since I don’t get visited by 10,000 people a day, I come here to vent it all out rather than in a decent blogger’s comment section.

So, here?  No, I’m not going to be nice and calm about how I feel.  This is my home and this is where I vent it out so that I don’t soil the carpet of another person’s property, (blog).  In case you were wondering why I’m being so “harsh” and “vulgar” about the whole thing when so many others were being nice.

I will not ever vote for McCain.  That does not mean I’m voting for Shitlery or Osama.  It means I’m voting for the person I think will do the job right.  If I have to write that person in, so be it.  It is NOT a wasted vote because I am voting.  I am not responsible for how the candidates ran their campaign and it is not my fault that they couldn’t get the support nor is it my responsibility how the rest of the country votes.  I vote for who I think is best.  If you want to twist that and spin it around to make it out to be a big, fat spit on American soldiers, this country and the voting process, you knock yourself out.  I, for one, have NOT forgotten what this country is about.  And I will not be bullied in to conforming just because you don’t like how I vote.

That’s why voting is private.  It’s my right and I’m going to exercise it the way I see fit.

Fuck McCain, Clinton and Brack.  They are the same to me.  One just slices our necks a little slower than the other two.  Either way, we get screwed and like hell if I’m going to stand there and give the nod to someone to fuck us over.
